Herta had not installed any digestive system in her puppet body, because she considered that function entirely unnecessary. As a result, she rarely went to bars.
"And what if someone takes a bite out of such precious Memory Bread?" Herta guarded the bread in her hands, glancing around from time to time as if wary of anyone who might have designs on it.
"Snort, snort, squeak!"
"Waaah! Get that Trash Can away from me! This isn't something you can eat!"
When Herta saw a Trash Can actually come up to her feet and look up at the Memory Bread in her arms, she became even more nervous.
"Ah, sorry for startling you. Huh? Miss Herta, why are you here?"
Topa had been discussing buttons with a Hound Family member who had a pile of buttons stacked before him. When she noticed Numby suddenly run off, she immediately chased after him.
Topa and Herta were not exactly strangers. After all, one owed money, and the other collected debts.
