Across a vast yet desolate mountain wilderness, Ogre-like monsters roared hard enough to shake the air as they charged toward a caravan that had been forced to halt, surrounding it in an instant.
Beren sat atop his horse, the sword at his waist already drawn, yet he did not join the battle himself. Instead, he continuously issued orders to those around him.
"Knights, form the vanguard and hold back the Ogres! Don't let them break into the defensive perimeter! Adventurers, harass and eliminate them—coordinate with the knights in front! Mages, fall back and prepare your spells first!"
Beren directed everyone around him in repelling the attacking horde of Ogres, his voice utterly calm.
Thanks to that, although the attack had come very suddenly, someone with the Enemy Perception skill had warned them in advance. No one was caught off guard.
