By the time Shien had finished getting dressed, Milu, holding Lide, had already come up to him.
"Aiyi, Aiyi."
The little girl with immense magic power reached out, tugging at Shien's clothes again and again, as though urging him on or anxiously waiting for something, her face full of impatience.
"This..."
Shien had no idea what the girl wanted, leaving him completely bewildered.
"All right, don't rush. Aiyi isn't going anywhere."
Lide, however, seemed quite familiar with this sort of thing and soothed her in a lazy tone. Though Milu still looked anxious, she stopped saying anything.
Seeing this, Shien had a thought.
"Could she want to see Aiyi?"
Shien asked the little beast perched on Milu's head, his expression strange.
"What? Didn't you already figure it out?" Lide yawned and looked at Shien's odd expression. Wisdom glinted in its beastly eyes as it gave another half-smile. "This girl likes Aiyi most. Whenever she sees Aiyi, she clings to her nonstop. She won't stop even when Aiyi gets annoyed and tells her to go away. If we hadn't happened to hear you mention Aiyi's name while passing by, we might not even have noticed you."
In short, if Shien had not mentioned Aiyi, they might have ignored him entirely.
To this person and beast, Shien's only value seemed to be that he "knew Aiyi." Other than that, there seemed to be nothing about him they thought highly of.
Yeah, he suddenly felt like skinning a bratty bear and eating roasted beast leg.
"You want to see Aiyi, right?" Shien said with a fake smile. "Fine. I'll take you to see her."
Then he could teach them a lesson for all that arrogance.
However, just as Shien was thinking that, Lide spoke.
"Before that, help us with something."
Lide actually said
