"Ahem..."
Among the Elves who had come before Shien with Carol was a young girl holding a short staff.
This childhood friend said to be inseparable from Merika was now looking at Shien with a rather complicated expression, completely lacking the sharpness she had shown when they first met.
She looked like a troublemaker who had become somewhat subdued after realizing some cruel reality, and she even seemed rather taciturn.
Shien raised an eyebrow as he looked at this Elven girl whose temperament had changed so drastically.
"So you're here too, Geno."
Shien addressed her with a hint of provocation.
And with that one sentence, he successfully lit her fuse.
"My name is Geno!"
Geno glared at Shien.
"I know, Jellywood." Shien grinned. "Why are you here? Playing patrol games with the grown-ups?"
"It's not a game!" Geno said angrily. "This isn't a game!"
"Yes, yes." Shien said dismissively. "Just remember to go home for dinner on time. Don't get too absorbed in playing, Jellywood."
"You..." Geno's blood rushed to her head in an instant. Her earlier complicated feelings and silence vanished without a trace, and she became as impulsive as she had been when they first met.
Carol immediately pressed a hand onto Geno's shoulder, but she and Geno both glared at Shien.
"Stop provoking Geno all the time." Carol said unhappily. "Using magic here isn't something to joke about. Even if you're a guest, you should show some consideration."
Hearing that, Shien shrugged.
He had not deliberately meant to provoke Geno. He had merely wanted to tease her after seeing how abruptly Merika's childhood friend had changed.
Shien could more or less guess why this girl had suddenly become like this.
So, even for the sake of his little wife, Shien had to look after this childhood friend
