Amid a flurry of chaotic, hurried footsteps, the knights and adventurers led by Beren, who had been carrying out the secret escort mission, all rushed along as though spurring their horses onward.
Vivian, Tier, Lumya, and Merika were among them, but their brows were deeply furrowed, their faces filled with confusion and shock.
It was not only Vivian and the others. Beren, Lyon, Aris, Eudice, Magray, and the rest wore the same expressions as they hurried toward the city gate.
By the time they arrived, the gate was already packed with people and surrounded by countless citizens.
The citizens seemed to want to leave the city. They craned their necks and peered outside as though something had drawn them there, creating a lively commotion.
The guards stationed at the gate stopped them and would not allow them to leave the city.
