A few minutes later.
Quite a crowd had gathered in front of Lu Qin's fried noodle stall.
First, they had been drawn by the rich aroma of the fried noodles.
Second, some customers were standing by the roadside eating with obvious relish, making many others crave a bite.
Although there were plenty of stalls outside Sunshine Elementary School—eight or nine of them—they sold the same few things every day, and the food was mediocre at best. Some were even quite bad. Breakfast was usually just something to make do with.
But Lu Qin's fried noodle stall was a rare treat, and people immediately flocked over.
Once one person joined the line, a second and third followed. The crowd kept growing.
The other stalls suddenly had no customers at all.
"Please don't push, everyone. Line up and come one at a time."
Lu Qin rapidly tossed the wok, sending portions of fried noodles out one after another.
There was no break in between; the intensity was high.
Yet Lu Qin did not feel tired, nor did his arms ache.
It seemed the "Perseverance" Aura he had drawn from the system lottery last night was working. It eliminated fatigue and was incredibly useful.
"Boss, just focus on cooking. We'll handle the packing."
"I don't need mine packed either. I won't even make it home before eating it—I want it too badly."
"Boss, you have to come every day. I could eat your fried noodles for ten days straight without getting sick of them."
"Everyone, line up properly. When ordering, add all the toppings you want, so the boss can cook them together and save time."
In just half an hour, Lu Qin had cooked nearly fifty portions of fried noodles. His speed left the customers in line dumbfounded.
"Damn, young man, where did you learn those wok skills? It looks like you're performing martial arts—fast and steady!"
"No wonder this young boss's rice noodles taste so good. He's got real skill!"
"Boss, don't you want to take a break? Just watching you makes me tired. That iron wok and spatula are practically throwing sparks."
Lu Qin was handsome, and the way he tossed the wok was pleasing to the eye. As the customers waited, they watched and chatted.
They were also worried that Lu Qin might exhaust himself, but after watching for a long while, he still looked completely relaxed, without the slightest sign of fatigue.
Good grief, this young man was really something. He had been frying noodles nonstop. Didn't his arms get sore?
The customers who got their fried noodles could not resist opening them and eating right away. One bite filled their mouths with fragrance.
"Oh wow! These fried noodles are seriously good! The absolute pinnacle of fried noodles!"
"They really are delicious. I'm already on my second serving, and I'm not sick of them at all."
By twenty past eight, quite a few parents were still buying fried noodles with their children.
The teachers at the school gate urged them, "The gates will close in ten minutes. Students still buying breakfast, hurry up."
"Oh no! Why are there still so many people ahead of us? Can you hurry up? My child needs to get to school!"
"Son, how about I buy you some steamed buns? There isn't time to line up for fried noodles!"
"I don't want buns. I want fried noodles! I tried some of my classmate's earlier. This stall's fried noodles are super delicious. I have to get some!"
"Oh my god, we're going to be late for school! Sir, please hurry up!"
"Ma'am, at your age, can you even finish five portions by yourself? Just buy one and leave the rest for us!"
The old lady said, "This young man's fried noodles really are delicious. I'm buying them for my husband, son, daughter-in-law, and grandson to try."
"Boss, I'll take five portions too, all with toppings, and five cups of mung bean paste. I've already paid by scan. I'll take the mung bean paste myself—where are the bags?"
"Brother, why are you buying five portions too? You don't even have a daughter-in-law or grandson. Buy less—we've been waiting in line forever!"
"What are you yelling for? I've got a big appetite. I eat five portions of fried noodles in one meal. What, got a problem with that?"
"I'm not waiting anymore. I'm really going to be late for school!"
The noisy scene in front of Lu Qin's fried noodle stall left the other breakfast stall owners nearby staring in disbelief.
What was going on?
Where had this fried noodle stall come from?
They had never seen it before.
It was just fried noodles. Could they really be that good?
Wasn't this a little exaggerated?!
With only three minutes left until eight-thirty, several parents forcibly dragged their children through the school gate.
The children who had not gotten any fried noodles hung their heads, looking utterly unhappy.
Two or three particularly stubborn ones sat on the ground and refused to enter the school, insisting on eating fried noodles first.
After receiving a few slaps, they went into the school crying.
Even the teachers and security guards could not help glancing toward Lu Qin's stall, wondering just how delicious those fried noodles had to be for children to not even want to go to school.
Still, even from a distance, the smell was indeed tempting.
The gates of Sunshine Elementary School slowly closed, and the flow of people nearby gradually dwindled.
The children began classes while the adults went to work.
Lu Qin finished frying the last three portions, packed them up, and handed them to a middle-aged woman who had been waiting.
"Here, your three portions of fried noodles. Please take them."
"Everyone says the mung bean paste is really good too. Is there any left?"
Lu Qin said, "The mung bean paste is sold out. Come earlier tomorrow."
"Alright." The middle-aged woman left with disappointment written all over her face.
Over the course of the morning, Lu Qin had sold nearly one hundred and twenty portions of fried noodles.
He had been cooking nonstop, yet his arms did not ache in the slightest. It was a very strange feeling.
Once the rush hour had passed, the other stalls gradually packed up and left.
As several stall owners passed by Lu Qin, they cast him a few rather resentful looks.
This newcomer's business was absurdly good.
Lu Qin wiped down the counter with a rag. There were no bits of noodles or vegetables left on it, only a few grease stains.
Lu Qin carefully wiped it down once more. He had specially kept a bucket of clean water in his food cart to ensure it stayed clean.
Seven or eight minutes later, the last stall nearby selling stuffed flatbreads also packed up and left. There really would not be any more customers.
Lu Qin was preparing to close up as well.
Just then, several elderly men and women turned in from the intersection. The moment they spotted Lu Qin's stall, they quickened their pace and walked over.
"Uncle Ge?"
Obtained Stall Map APP!
Outside Sunshine Elementary School.
Lu Qin had not expected one final wave of customers.
They were elderly neighbors from the old neighborhood, led by Lu Qin's next-door neighbor, Uncle Ge.
"Little Lu, we're here to support your business. We came specially to try your fried noodles."
"Oh, I haven't had fried rice noodles in ages. Give me one to try."
"Whoa, Little Lu, business was good this morning, huh? You've already sold out several baskets of rice noodles?"
Uncle Ge had sharp eyes and spotted several plastic baskets stacked off to the side.
But he had no idea exactly how many portions Lu Qin had sold.
He figured there were a lot of people around the school in the morning, so business naturally would not be too bad.
Lu Qin smiled. "Not bad. Uncles and aunties, do you have any dietary restrictions? No spicy food, right?"
Uncle Ge raised his brows. "Hey, who are you looking down on? Give me extra chili. Fried rice noodles have to be spicy."
"I can't handle spicy food. Less oil too, please."
"Fry three portions for me. I'll take some home for the others to try. Make them normally; they can eat spicy food too."
"Alright, I'll get started right away."
Lu Qin lit the stove, scooped a spoonful of lard into the iron wok, and began frying the noodles.
