After touring the lower levels of the Crossbone Vanguard, Star-Lord was utterly dumbfounded.
Lush orchards, golden waves of wheat, shimmering fishponds, and chickens, ducks, cattle, sheep, and other livestock running across green pastures...
For a moment, the sight gave Star-Lord the illusion that he had suddenly returned to Earth.
"Well, it's my first time leaving Earth. Who knows whether I'll be able to stomach alien food? Of course I had to come prepared."
That was the answer Kraft Lee, the de facto leader of Death Vanguard and vice-captain of the Crossbone Vanguard, gave Star-Lord at the time.
Still, being able to eat food from Earth again after so long left Peter Quill unexpectedly moved.
Besides the outrageous farm and the amusement park he had seen earlier, there was also a well-equipped video game room. It held not only all the old game consoles Peter Quill remembered from his childhood, but also PC and console games released on Earth over the past few decades.
There were even some gaming devices that existed only in dreams, including a virtual dive gaming device called "NERvGear."
Peter Quill found all these things so engrossing that he almost forgot he was supposed to go find Ego.
There was also a hangar packed with fighters and robots of every shape, a collection room displaying different styles of battle armor, numerous laboratories that clearly served different purposes, and a pile of bizarre technological creations whose workings Peter Quill couldn't begin to understand.
