Roxxon Energy Corporation was arguably the most mysterious company in America. Remnants of Hydra had revealed that they had once held some sway within the company.
But even after S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers rooted out those Hydra members, the Roxxon Corporation remained standing, all its business proceeding in an orderly fashion, as though those Hydra operatives had been nothing more than temporary workers it could fire at will.
None of that had anything to do with the Mutant Brotherhood, though. Pietro and the others had come purely for revenge.
Like many American technology companies, the Roxxon Corporation secretly conducted human experiments.
Unlike most companies, however, Roxxon did not abduct ordinary people and experiment on them to give them powers. Instead, it targeted enhanced people who already possessed powers, or mutants created by other companies' experiments.
Two enhanced people in the Mutant Brotherhood had been captured by the Roxxon Corporation and subjected to all sorts of inhumane experiments, as well as frequent blood draws and the like.
They actually owed their escape to S.H.I.E.L.D., whose pursuit of Hydra had led it to the Roxxon Corporation and given the two of them an opportunity to get out.
There was no telling whether this experimental base was the same one they had been held in. As the Mutant Brotherhood became more active, many companies conducting human experiments had promptly relocated their experimental bases.
Pietro and the others did not care about that. Since they had discovered that the Roxxon Corporation was still conducting human experiments, they were going to hit it, no questions asked.
"Same as usual. Ihsan and I will go in first to photograph the evidence. Once you get my signal, launch the attack."
