The battle caused quite a commotion, mainly because Quinn's fighting style relied on fire support. The constant banging and crackling sounded just like New Year's celebrations on the Far Shore.
Fortunately, S.H.I.E.L.D. had prepared well in advance. Before the two sides started fighting, its agents had found ways to clear out the nearby residents and set up a cordon farther away, so no bystanders were caught in the fighting.
However, the enormous racket also drew plenty of reporters. Ordinary reporters could only turn back empty-handed when faced with S.H.I.E.L.D.'s cordon, but as more and more people with extraordinary abilities appeared on Earth, quite a few enhanced people had joined the ranks of journalists.
Among these enhanced reporters, only a small number had already been journalists. Many of the newcomers were "freedom fighters" who distrusted the authorities and wanted to use their abilities to expose the truths officials covered up. Basically, wherever the authorities set up a cordon, they came running.
So when they heard that S.H.I.E.L.D. had cordoned off Chinatown, they all eagerly hurried over. Naturally, Eddie Brock, host of the symbiote Venom, was among them.
"Hey, Eddie, you're here too."
An enhanced reporter greeted Eddie Brock, who had just arrived.
"Hi, Oguchi."
There weren't too many enhanced reporters, but there weren't exactly few of them either, so they had naturally dealt with one another before. Although their opinions sometimes differed, they often worked together when pursuing the truth.
So Eddie asked without hesitation, "What's the situation?"
"It's not the police or the military handling the cordon this time. It's the famous S.H.I.E.L.D. again, so we haven't made a move yet. We don't want to tip them off," Oguchi explained quietly.
"That makes things tricky... so, the usual plan?"
