Arrest and Invitation

Takazawa noticed Kuroki but calmly turned and went backstage.

Conan saw Kuroki lead his men backstage and secretly followed them.

"Mr. Takazawa, please come with us," Kuroki said, stopping Takazawa backstage as he was about to leave after class.

Takazawa looked utterly unconcerned. "Oh? Does Kamurocho Police Station need my cooperation again? Sorry, but I'll have to—"

"No. You're under arrest on suspicion of intentional homicide. If you resist, you may also be charged with obstructing official duties." Kuroki took out a document and unfolded it in front of Takazawa.

Before Takazawa could react, the detective behind Kuroki had already produced handcuffs. With an Arrest Warrant, they could cuff him even if he did not resist.

Why was Kuroki handling it?

Because some officers in the Criminal Affairs Division were still writing self-criticisms, while others were writing resignation letters...

Conan, meanwhile, was baffled!

They were backstage, so this was hardly a public spectacle. But Kuroki's approach had nothing to do with "assisting an investigation." He looked confident, completely unafraid of making a scene. He even had an Arrest Warrant!

Takazawa only came to his senses when the handcuffs were on and a restraint belt was being fastened around his waist.

"What are you doing? This is an unlawful arrest! I'm going to—" Takazawa immediately began shouting.

"Yes, yes. You can hire a lawyer or file a complaint yourself," Kuroki said calmly. Now he was the one with nothing to fear.

"You—" Takazawa tried to say more, but they led him away. The venue staff who saw it were stunned.

"Conan, why did you run over—huh?" Ran had come looking for Conan. She froze when she saw Takazawa being arrested. "Ran, Teacher Takazawa's been arrested. Should we go see what happened?" Conan asked quickly, steering her toward them.
