Different duel modes had clear requirements for the contestants' levels. With Zhang Tie's current iron-plate rank, the only ones he could participate in were free duels and restricted duels.

The so-called free duel had extremely loose rules. Contestants could use any and all means—magic treasures, spiritual treasures, immortal treasures, talismans, puppet beasts, spiritual pets, and even the Myriad Souls Banner. As long as it was something they owned, they could display it in the duel.

This style of duel had always been favored by spectators for the simple reason that it was full of uncertainty, and one's cultivation realm could not entirely determine the final outcome.

Take a duel between Nascent Soul stage cultivators, for instance. If one party suddenly unleashed a Void Refinement stage puppet beast or talisman, even if the opponent had a higher realm, there was a very high possibility they would be instantly defeated. It was precisely this unpredictable variable that made free duels extremely attractive, and correspondingly, their prize money was directly doubled on top of the original base.

As for restricted duels, the rules were completely different. Contestants could only rely on their own spells and physical bodies for the competition, and any other external means were strictly prohibited.

In such duels, the true combat
