She quickly walked over to the bookshelf, took down two scrolls, held them before Xuan Ye's eyes, and gave them a shake.
Smiling, she said to Xuan Ye, "Xiao Ye, the Ninjutsu and Taijutsu Scrolls you wanted are in my hands. Do you want them?"
Watching his mother tease him, Xuan Ye was at a loss for words. He did not want to say anything, so he could only reply helplessly, "Mom, hurry up and give them to me. I still need to train in ninjutsu and taijutsu!"
Seeing her son's expression, Kushina could only hand the two scrolls to Xuan Ye, adding, "All right, all right, here you go. You're really no fun at all."
Xuan Ye broke out in a cold sweat when he heard his mother, Kushina Uzumaki, speak.
Fun? Mom, I'm your son. Did you have a son just for fun? Xuan Ye thought to himself.
Before long, I took the scrolls from my mother Kushina and ran out of the study at top speed, ignoring her.
In the study, Kushina Uzumaki watched me flee and covered her mouth with a slight smile. "My son really is so adorable. He's even ignoring his own mother now."
Xuan Ye was not slow. In no time at all, he had returned to his room, ready to see exactly what Ninjutsu and Taijutsu Scrolls his mother Kushina had given him. Only after finding out what techniques they contained could he begin training.
Soon, Xuan Ye reached the bed in his room. Half-crouching, he placed the scrolls he had just received from his mother on the bed, then closed his eyes and calmed himself down.
In truth, Xuan Ye was still extremely excited. He had already been in the world of Naruto for three years and was now four years old. Although he had seen his parents use ninjutsu, and had seen just how powerful those techniques were, he himself had never used any ninjutsu.
He had not practiced a single ninjutsu. Since he had never even trained in ninjutsu, there was no need to mention training scrolls for ninjutsu.
But now, two Ninjutsu and Taijutsu Scrolls lay before him. These were genuine scrolls, real things he could see and touch—scrolls containing ninjutsu and taijutsu.
How could Xuan Ye not be excited? Excitement aside, though, he still needed to settle down and study properly. To learn how to use ninjutsu, the first step was to see how it was used. And to learn how it was used, he had to read the Ninjutsu Scrolls engraved with the methods for practicing it.
The Ninjutsu Scrolls were right in front of me. As long as I opened these two scrolls, I could begin practicing the ninjutsu I had dreamed of.
"Alright, let me open them. Gently, very gently. I absolutely can't damage these two scrolls," Xuan Ye muttered.
In fact, even if Xuan Ye opened the scrolls with great force, they would not be damaged. Scrolls were made from specially treated paper, protected through special methods, and finally reinforced with special ninjutsu to give them tremendous resilience.
Therefore, even if someone tried to tear a Ninjutsu Scroll apart with great force, it would not be damaged.
The most important step in making a Ninjutsu Scroll was engraving the training method onto it. Without the training method, no matter how many scrolls one had, they would be useless because the scrolls would be blank. Thus, engraving ninjutsu was the most crucial step.
Once all these steps were completed, a Ninjutsu Scroll capable of teaching someone how to practice ninjutsu would take shape, and one could officially begin studying the training methods engraved within it.
Soon, with Xuan Ye's efforts, the Ninjutsu Scroll slowly unfurled, revealing its true appearance.
Xuan Ye saw the contents of the Ninjutsu Scroll. Written at the top was the name of the technique, so that whoever trained with it would know what kind of ninjutsu it was.
Xuan Ye picked up the scroll I had opened and held it before my eyes. The large title immediately came into view: Basic Three Body Jutsu.
The Basic Three Body Jutsu should be the three most basic ninjutsu techniques: the Transformation Technique, Substitution Technique, and Clone Technique, right?
It must be those three. My mother, Kushina Uzumaki, wouldn't give me advanced Three Body Jutsu. I haven't even learned ninjutsu yet, and I've only just extracted chakra.
After thinking it over, Xuan Ye was certain that it was those three techniques. However, when his eyes moved farther down the scroll, he frowned slightly and scratched his head.
"How could this be? This isn't right. It shouldn't be like this!" Xuan Ye muttered to himself.
Unwilling to accept it, I opened the other scroll. This time, I was no longer careful. I casually picked it up and forcefully pulled it open.
This scroll was somewhat similar to the previous one. At the very top, it was also labeled with the name of the technique.
This was a Taijutsu Scroll, engraved with taijutsu techniques. It could teach me how to use the taijutsu recorded on it.
Two taijutsu techniques were engraved on this Taijutsu Scroll: Konoha Whirlwind and Konoha Gale.
Xuan Ye only glanced casually at the scroll's title before shifting his gaze to the lower portion, where the methods for using the taijutsu were engraved.
It was really detailed. Far too detailed. Detailed enough to drive me insane.
When I had first seen the Ninjutsu Scroll, I had already had a feeling that this Taijutsu Scroll would be the same. But I still held onto a little hope, thinking that perhaps this Taijutsu Scroll would be different from that Ninjutsu Scroll.
But cruel reality slapped me awake and swept away every last trace of my wishful thinking. It was not that the training instructions on those two scrolls lacked detail. Rather, they were simply too detailed.
Just how detailed were they? Anyone who had not seen these two scrolls would never know. Only those who had seen them could understand.
Damn it, it was just the simple Basic Three Body Jutsu, the most basic ninjutsu techniques, yet that scroll was two meters long and half a meter wide.
Never mind the Three Body Jutsu. As for that taijutsu-engraved scroll, I really wanted to drag out the engraver who made it and beat him up. Seriously, do you know just how detailed that one Taijutsu Scroll was?
It was only one Taijutsu Scroll, containing two taijutsu techniques, yet it was one and a half meters long and still half a meter wide. That was because every scroll had a standardized width of half a meter, which was considered the optimal width.
Don't think one and a half meters sounds long. The little figures engraved inside were incredibly tiny, about half the size of a palm—no, perhaps even smaller than that.
Honestly, I really could not understand it. Konoha Whirlwind and Konoha Gale were only two taijutsu techniques, and Xuan Ye had even watched his father and mother use them in the courtyard. Back and forth, there were only a few movements.
But why? Why could this Taijutsu Scroll divide Konoha Whirlwind and Konoha Gale into dozens of steps? It was detailed to an unimaginable degree. Just looking at the instructions here, before I could even learn them, I felt like my head was about to spin. I really did not want to say anything anymore.
