Background / History

Kushina and Minato Namikaze welcomed their first son, Genya. Kushina proposed the name “Genya,” which Minato accepted, celebrating their child with open pride and affection 2.

As Genya grew, Kushina took a major role in raising and educating him. She taught him about chakra, Sage Chakra, and the three sacred lands, while continuing to care for him at home 3 4. When Genya asked to begin ninjutsu and taijutsu training, she guided him to the family study and provided instructional scrolls 12 13 15.

Kushina later enrolled Genya in the Ninja Academy despite his objections and attempts to evade attendance. At the academy entrance, she reunited with her friend Mikoto Uchiha; the two playfully argued over whether Genya or Itachi was stronger 54 56 57.

While pregnant with Naruto, Kushina remained focused on Genya’s well-being and took pride in his victory over Itachi. Minato hired a female ninja to assist her during the later stages of the pregnancy 85 86.

After Naruto’s birth, a masked man abducted Kushina while she was exhausted from childbirth. The attacker extracted the Nine-Tails from her, leaving her on the verge of death 90 91. Despite her condition, Kushina used her remaining chakra to manifest chains that restrained the Nine-Tails, allowing Minato to seal it into Naruto 93 94.

Genya sacrificed most of his chakra through the System to save Kushina and Minato from death. Kushina’s injuries were healed and her vital signs stabilized, but she remained unconscious in the hospital alongside Minato 95 96 103 104.

Kushina is described as beautiful, with a fair and tender appearance. Her son considers her fierce expressions more cute than intimidating 8 14 85.

She is playful and easily provoked by Genya’s teasing, but her discipline is consistently followed by concern and tenderness. After pinching Genya’s ear for calling her slow, she releases him when he apologizes and gently tends to the reddened ear 14.

Kushina is proud of Genya’s talent and openly competitive with Mikoto Uchiha over their sons’ abilities. She supports Genya’s desire to train because she recognizes the dangers of the ninja world 43 57 86.
