Bumping into Someone

There was no helping it. No matter how surprised he was, the result was right there. What use was surprise? None at all.

When the middle-aged owner of the Ninja Tool Shop saw him pick up the two boxes of ninja tools and prepare to leave, he could only call after him, "Little customer, if you need ninja tools again, come back to my shop! I can give you a discount. Very cheap, really."

After hearing the owner say that, Xuan Ye could not just leave outright. But he had no time to chat with the shop owner either; he still had training to do. So he could only turn around, smile at the owner in acknowledgment, and show his friendliness.

After that, Xuan Ye left the shop, carrying the two boxes of ninja tools in both hands.

Back on the streets of Konoha Village, Xuan Ye used the two boxes to cover his face as much as possible. He was afraid the villagers of Konoha Village might recognize him. If they did, trouble would be unavoidable, so while hiding his face behind the boxes, Xuan Ye tried to quicken his pace.

Although the two boxes were not particularly heavy for Xuan Ye, they could not exactly be called light either. Still, carrying them somewhere else was manageable.

However, with the two boxes of ninja tools in his hands, he could not move all that fast. He could only go a little faster than normal. If he wanted to go any faster, that really was impossible.

Since the two boxes blocked his view, Xuan Ye could only look downward. Even so, he could barely avoid other people and keep from bumping into them.

Seeing the two large boxes in his hands, the people on the street all moved aside, unwilling to stand in Xuan Ye's path for fear that he might run into them. That was not bad either. At least it kept him from bumping into others, which was a good thing.

Xuan Ye carried the two boxes with both hands and moved at his fastest speed. Though this speed was incredibly, incredibly slow compared to his true top speed, it was not slow to ordinary people. It was already extremely fast by their standards.

At the very least, Xuan Ye's body was at genin level. He was only carrying two boxes of ninja tools. If he were slower than ordinary people even like this, that would be ridiculous. If that were the case, ninja would not be called ninja anymore; a few ordinary people could defeat them easily.

Suddenly, someone appeared in front of Xuan Ye. That person was walking in a hurried rush, as though he was rushing to do something. He kept his head down as he hurried along, his eyes not looking ahead.

He did not see Xuan Ye, and because Xuan Ye was carrying the two boxes of ninja tools, he could not see ahead either.

With neither side paying attention to what was in front of them, the outcome was obvious. The two of them would collide.

Very quickly, the two of them crashed into each other.

"Bang."

A fairly loud sound rang out. It came from the two boxes in his hands falling to the ground, and it drew the attention of a number of people.

Many passersby turned to look at Xuan Ye. At that moment, he had been knocked down by the person walking in such a hurry and had fallen to the ground.

"Ah!" Xuan Ye cried out softly. After being knocked down, he had an intimate encounter with Mother Earth. Honestly, that fall really hurt.

But Xuan Ye only felt the pain for a moment. The next instant, he saw a child in front of him. Though he was a child, he looked a little older than Xuan Ye, and there was nothing particularly special about his appearance.

No, his eyes were somewhat unusual. They were white. Xuan Ye could say with certainty that they were the Hyuga Clan's Byakugan, because in Konoha Village, or even throughout the entire ninja world, only the Hyuga Clan's Kekkei Genkai, the Byakugan, had white-looking eyes. There should not be any other reason for someone's eyes to be white.

The other boy had fallen to the ground as well and yelped a few times to express his pain. Xuan Ye climbed to his feet, looked at the person he had bumped into, and said, "Are you okay? Sorry, I'm really sorry. I didn't see anyone ahead of me just now. I didn't see you in front of me."

This really was Xuan Ye's fault, though he was helpless about it. With the two boxes of ninja tools in his hands, there was no way for him to see whether anyone was in front of him.

Helpless or not, Xuan Ye still quickly got up and apologized to the person he had bumped into. It was the most basic courtesy. While Xuan Ye was not the kind of person who would sacrifice himself for strangers, apologizing for his own mistake was not difficult for him.

As he apologized to the other person who had fallen, Xuan Ye also extended a hand to pull him up. But clearly, the boy did not accept. He slapped away Xuan Ye's outstretched hand, snorted coldly, and stood up on his own.

Throughout all this, he did not even glance at Xuan Ye. His face was full of anger, though Xuan Ye could not understand it. He had only been bumped and fallen down. Why was he showing such an angry expression?

But angry was angry. After all, Xuan Ye had knocked him down, so it could be considered his responsibility.

After knocking Xuan Ye's hand away, the boy quickly stood up. Once he was on his feet, Xuan Ye could see that he was nearly a head taller than him. The height difference was obvious, a full head. Judging by his face, he was probably a few years older than Xuan Ye.

After the Hyuga Clan member stood up, he widened his eyes and glared fiercely at Xuan Ye. "Damn it, are you a bastard? Do you not have eyes? Why don't you watch where you're going? Didn't your parents teach you to look ahead when you walk?"

"Or are your eyes useless? If they are, I, Hyuga Kazefu, can dig them out for free and turn you into a blind man. Then you won't need to watch where you're going ever again."

Just like that, Xuan Ye was cursed at for no reason. After being cursed out, he stood there blankly for a moment before quickly coming to his senses and saying to the Hyuga Clan member, "Am I the only one who fell down? Who told you not to watch where you were going either? If you had avoided me, would you have been hit? What kind of person are you? You say my parents didn't teach me, but I think yours are the ones who didn't teach you!"

Xuan Ye no longer held back against someone like this and cursed right back. He had originally planned to apologize and leave, but this Hyuga Clan member, Hyuga Kazefu, was simply too arrogant. So arrogant that Xuan Ye could barely stand it.

"What? You said I have no manners? You're courting death."

After hearing Xuan Ye's words, Hyuga Kazefu of the Hyuga Clan, whom he had bumped into, quickly turned ugly. No one would look pleased after being cursed at. But someone like him deserved it, because respect went both ways. If you wanted others to respect you, you first had to learn to respect others.
