"Duke, when will your reinforcements arrive?" Lindir's eyes widened, and he could not even be bothered with formalities. He had come to help, not to be buried alongside them!
"Soon, soon!" Apophis Breo could only grit his teeth and say. After all, he had no idea when Roland's army would reach the battlefield.
"If this keeps up, we'll all be shot dead on the walls by the Orcs!" Lindir's face darkened, his tone thoroughly hostile. The Orcs had learned their lesson. They had finally stopped throwing themselves forward in suicidal leaps. Instead, they covered their lightly armed troops as they exchanged fire with the soldiers on the fortress walls. The Orc professional archers hidden among the crowd always inflicted severe casualties on the defenders. In the end, both sides had huddled behind shields and begun lobbing arrows at one another.
Arrows carrying Battle Qi flew chaotically amid ordinary arrows, and no one knew which unlucky soul would be struck down next. Overall, the defenders held the advantage in the number of professional archers, while the Orcs had the advantage in ordinary archers. For a time, neither side could gain the upper
