"Ah..." Wes rolled his eyes and flopped over, fast asleep.
"Enough! Stop scaring the child!" Caslo shook his head helplessly. Common folk were easily frightened to begin with; Caldo's roar had nearly scared the man to death...
"Tch! Boring!" Caldo flicked his tail, looking thoroughly bored.
"All right, it's time for us to go! Say a proper goodbye to your grandfather!" Caslo said gently, rubbing Wes's short brown hair.
"Old man, take these Silver Coins. Your expenses may be lower after the child leaves with me, but you still need to live. Treat yourself better, especially if you hope to live long enough to see your grandson make something of himself!" Caslo placed a stack of Silver Coins on the table and pushed it over. Though Silver Coins were relatively rare here, they were not enough to tempt someone into wrongdoing. Gold Coins, on the other hand, would have only brought the old man trouble.
"..." The old man's lips moved, but in the end, he did not refuse.
"Wes, listen to the lord and behave yourself. I don't ask that you become somebody important. I only hope you come back safe and sound..." The old man pulled Wes over and muttered to him for a while. Finally, he took out a bundle he had packed overnight and handed it to Wes.
"...Give it to me!" Caslo's eye twitched as he looked at the bundle, which was nearly half as big as Wes. Had the old man packed up his entire household?
Seeing Caslo casually store the bundle in his Spatial Equipment, the old man bent over gratefully and clasped his hands, his face full of ingratiating gratitude.
"My lord, if the child does anything wrong, please feel free to beat or scold him! Don't hold back!" the old
