"Hiss! Could those clumsy Goblin mages really cause such a disturbance?" Elrond picked up a pinch of dirt from the ground, his face full of disbelief. Goblins did have mages of their own, but their birth rate was so low that even Orc Shamans would weep at the sight. How could they possibly nurture a Sage capable of wielding forbidden spells? Or assemble a whole forbidden-spell mage corps?

"I can't say. Who exactly made the move..." Elrond shook his head regretfully. Under the effects of the forbidden spell's elemental turbulence, even prophecy or reconstruction skills could not reveal what had happened in the past, so Elrond could only make his own guesses.
"What kind of people would hold a grudge against both us and the humans?" Following the principle that if he could not figure out the culprit, he should consider who stood to benefit, Elrond changed his line of thought.
"Orcs?" Lindir ventured.

The Orcs, who occupied the vast northern lands, did not lack powerful spellcasters. As long as they put effort into searching, a place like the Northern Wastes, like a breeding ground for venomous creatures, would always produce all kinds of High-Tier Professionals!
"Then we may need to raise our alert level! The Lagrangeans have been charging all over the Misty Mountains attacking people like madmen. They must have completely enraged the Orcs... I fear they may attack Rivendell when the time comes!" Lindir said worriedly.
"Just strengthen our defenses. If those beasts truly dare come to Rivendell... I would welcome it!" Elrond narrowed
