"Our magic carrier pigeons were limited in speed. It would take them at least a day to receive the message!" Knight Captain Lavien said worriedly. The kingdom did have Beastmasters generated by the system, but their levels were low. For now, they could only raise magical carrier pigeons and similar communication beasts to contribute to the kingdom's rule. After all, the foremost requirements for controlling a region were transportation and communication! If things were like the Middle Ages, where a castle fell and the king did not learn of it until a month later, it would already be far too late!
"How many carrier pigeons did you bring?" Lance asked with a frown. Ordinary pigeons could hardly handle such tasks. Harsh weather and attacks from all kinds of predators made long-distance travel extremely risky for normal pigeons. That gamble-with-your-life success rate was too unstable, which was why the kingdom had abandoned it. Magical pigeons did not have these problems. Few creatures in the entire region could hunt down those "nature spirits" armed with protective and acceleration magic, vastly increasing their margin for error!
"We have four here!" Lavien glanced at Mogus, who then spoke to Lance.
"Good! We have two!" Lance shook his head with a bitter smile. Three pigeons per side was not safe enough! They needed the news to reach King Roland and Queen Nyx promptly and accurately!
"We can't wait! This is it! Send one each to Flowing City, Lulong Fortress, and North Crossing Fortress! Send one to Dragon Cliff Fortress and two to Lagrange City! It's settled! Send the messages now!" Lance slapped his hand down and made the decision at once. He was sending pigeons to North Crossing Fortress and Dragon Cliff Fortress because both places also had communication carrier pigeons, and they were closer.
