After leaving the Sea God Island region, Ling Yun continued exploring the depths of the sea. Guided by clues from the Sea God's Canon and the spatial token he had found in the wreckage of an alien spacecraft, he headed deeper into the ocean.
Along the way, he encountered more powerful Sea Soul Beasts and strange underwater terrain. He also discovered several small ancient ruins, gaining precious materials and fragments of cultivation techniques, but he found no definite clues regarding the "Lord of the Deep Sea" or the minions of the Outer Gods.
One day, he sailed into an extreme sea region known as the "Endless Sea Abyss." The waters here were bottomless, the pressure immense, and even light could not penetrate them. It was a land of eternal darkness. According to the Sea God's Canon, the Endless Sea Abyss was the deepest part of the Douluo Continent's oceans. It might connect to certain unknown spaces, perhaps even... one of the rifts leading to the Abyss of the Void.
Ling Yun left the Wavebreaker above the abyss and dove alone into the absolute darkness. He had descended an unknown distance when everything around him became deathly silent, with only the immense water pressure constantly crushing against his protective Soul Power. Even an ordinary Titled Douluo likely would not last long here.
