Not a sliver of sunlight could penetrate them; though it was clearly daytime, it felt as if the world had fallen into eternal midnight. Within those clouds, there was no natural lightning, only twisted dark-red bolts flashing wildly with ominous blood-colored radiance. Every flash was accompanied by shrieks and whispers that made the soul tremble.
An indescribable, terrifying pressure, as though it came from the hell of the Nine Netherworlds, spread from the direction of Dragon City like a tide, shrouding everything within a hundred miles. Beneath that pressure, grass and trees withered, birds and beasts fled in panic, and even the natural energy of heaven and earth became chaotic and violent.
