After a while, Jason helped Bruce gather up all the books from the floor. Bruce read behind the desk while Jason found the relevant books for him, then marked the chapters that might contain clues in the table of contents.
Jason was concentrating on the contents pages when he suddenly noticed a black shadow falling across the desk. He turned around and saw Dick.
"God, how do you walk without making a sound? Oh, right, I forgot. You're an acrobat." Jason jumped in surprise. He had just been about to crack a joke to ease the tension when he noticed that Dick looked terrible.
"Yeah, I'm an acrobat. I can't do anything except perform acrobatics, especially not help Bruce organize research materials!" With that, Dick turned and left. Jason immediately leaped out of his chair, grabbed him, and said, "What's wrong with you? Why are you being so sarcastic? What do you have to be mad about? Jason sighed. Just as he was about to explain, Dick started toward the stairs. Jason darted in front of him, blocking his path. "Bruce brought me here because he was worried you'd run into danger while wandering around at night."
"You live in Gotham. Have you never gone out at night?" Dick became even angrier. His face reddened as he raised his voice. "You're younger than I am, and you haven't run into danger. So why can't I go out by myself?!"
