Looking in through the crack in the main doors, countless figures hurried back and forth inside the High Tower, creating a lively bustle.
Following the winding staircase upward, Greed Schiller, dressed in a white lab coat, stopped outside an unremarkable office. With a creak, the door opened. Leaning against the doorway, he looked at Pride sitting behind the desk and said,
"If this weren't such a serious matter, I really couldn't stand working with you. When are you going to fix that perfectionist streak of yours? Come on, Rome wasn't built in a day!"
Pride, who was writing at his desk, did not even look up. "But Rome has to be built someday. You're Greed, not Sloth. How long do you intend to drag this out?"
"After all these years, what difference would a few more days make? Honestly, I haven't even taken my annual leave yet." Greed Schiller shook his head. Seeing Pride's look, he raised both hands and waved them. "All right, all right. I know you're eager to become an ordinary person. I'll go up and see how Sloth is doing."
With that, he turned to leave. The moment he did, he ran straight into a figure in a trench coat. Greed looked up and said in surprise, "Sloth? Why are you back?"
