"I came to see you because there's been a strange case recently..."
Batman's voice sounded by the window. He and Schiller stood before the window of the asylum room, one on the left and one on the right. They were not quite facing each other, both turned sideways toward the window.
When the moonlight streamed through the window, it stretched their shadows long, laying them parallel across the floor and extending them up the walls and ceiling.
"Just yesterday, I received word that a series of murders had occurred in Gotham. The victims died in highly unusual ways, and more importantly, the killer left a death threat at the crime scenes—'Bruce Wayne will die tomorrow.'"
Batman fixed his eyes on Schiller. He noticed that Schiller's expression did not change at the mention of that name, so he continued, "Wayne Enterprises is extremely important to Gotham. If its leader and owner were to die unexpectedly, it would cause enormous chaos in the city."
"What do you think about this case?"
"You must have already dealt with the killer. Otherwise, you wouldn't be speaking to me here so calmly. The moment you saw me, you ruled out my involvement and decided I was someone you could cooperate with. Why?" Schiller turned to Batman.
"I take back what I said." Batman's opening surprised everyone, but he remained calm as he said, "What I called a serial murder case was merely a general term for multiple cases in a short period with similar methods. In your view, it probably wouldn't qualify as a serial murder case."
Batman could clearly see the man opposite him raise his eyes in slight surprise. The fingers of the arm folded across his chest rubbed against the fabric of his suit. There was no doubt that he was pleased.
