Led by Jarvis, who held Wanda's hand, with Riley and Shang-Chi following behind, they headed into the temple together. Only when they reached the entrance of the enormous temple did they realize that the entire structure was floating in the air.
As they entered the temple, the group fell somewhat silent. Riley, who was usually good at livening the mood, did not dare speak. Shang-Chi had no tongue and could only communicate through sign language, while Wanda had clearly sunk into an anxious breakdown and could do nothing at all.
Once inside, they were astonished by its breathtaking splendor. Passing through a long, dim corridor, they found themselves before a magnificent hall. Enormous Eastern statues stood on either side, while flames blazed fiercely in the braziers.
In the apocalypse, such a massive temple in New York Central Park should have held countless terrifying secrets, and the sunset streaming through the windows should have cast an eerie tint over the scene. Yet for some reason, they all felt reassured.
"Dong, dong, dong..."
The bell rang. Beneath its deep hum was a divine quality that dispersed illusions. They continued along the corridor beside the main hall, passed through side rooms, and entered the temple courtyard, where Jarvis saw a familiar figure in a long yellow robe ringing the bell.
"Ancient One!" Riley cried.
Riley had Spider-Man's memories, so he knew the previous Sorcerer Supreme. At the very least, he had seen her photograph in the Sanctum Sanctorum. Riley had wanted to rush forward, but after freezing for a moment, he pulled back the foot he had stepped out with. He truly could not tell whether the Ancient One in such a terrifying world was friend or foe.
The sight of the Ancient One emerging from behind the great bell startled them all.
