After reflexively calling Dick's name, Thomas froze. How had Dick grown so much overnight? What had he missed?
Then he realized this couldn't possibly be Dick—at the very least, not the Dick he knew.
Thomas took two swift steps back. One Hand flipped up the hem of his suit jacket and pulled a Batarang from behind his waist. He stared coldly at Nightwing and asked, "Who are you? Why are you in Wayne Manor?"
Seeing Thomas's familiar reaction, Nightwing reflexively retreated a bowshot's distance, raising both hands in front of himself. "Wait, Batman, I'm..."
Nightwing's voice abruptly cut off. Only then did he realize what he had said. He stared at Thomas's face in shock; Thomas looked far too much like the Batman he knew.
Anyone familiar with the Flashpoint Universe would know that Thomas, the old master of the Flashpoint Universe, was Main Universe Batman's biological father. Their faces, heights, and builds were all very similar, so Nightwing had mistaken him for the Main Universe Batman he knew.
Nightwing had felt that the Batman from before, who was around his own age, had been difficult enough to accept. But this Batman in front of him seemed a little too old.
There were two Batmen in Gotham City?
Just thinking about it made Nightwing's head buzz.
Thomas had already tightened his grip on the Batarang. Seeing him assume an attacking stance, Nightwing immediately wanted to explain, but Thomas was clearly the sort of Batman who wouldn't listen to explanations. Just before he threw the dart, another figure stumbled out of the room.
Thomas watched the Dick he knew lean against the railing with half-lidded eyes, looking exhausted. His hand holding the weapon loosened, and then Dick, clutching a pillow, said, "Didn't Bruce tell you? They're the Bat-family from another universe.
