Constantine's eyes widened. He looked at Schiller, then Bruce, then Schiller again. "This is your teaching method? No wonder you tortured each other for four years. If my teacher had made me memorize all this in three hours, I definitely would've..."
Before he could finish, Bruce had already stepped forward. Calmly flipping through the three books, he nodded. "My memory system is having some issues right now. Upload and download speeds have been affected, so I may need to read them twice to record them. Normally, once would be enough."
"Go on." Schiller pointed his cane toward the table and chairs beside the bookstore window, then looked at Constantine. "Take me to your storage room. I've recently become interested in the ritual side of the occult world."
Constantine craned his neck to look at Bruce and found that he had indeed sat down at the table and begun reading seriously. He shook his head, sighed, and led Schiller into the storage room.
Two hours later, it was completely dark outside. Schiller emerged from the study upstairs, with Constantine trailing behind him dejectedly. Schiller descended the stairs, and Constantine hurried after him, spreading his hands. "...Why are there so many whys? Rituals in the magic world are passed down by word of mouth. I do what everyone else does. How would I know why?"
"Besides, I'm already considered an exceptionally knowledgeable mage in the magic world. I know the habits of nearly every demon and Angel. Even an Archmage like Andrew has called me to ask about the weaknesses of obscure gods."
"And yet you don't know the origin of the same symbol appearing in four different rituals." Schiller pointed out.
Constantine sighed deeply. Holding the railing as he descended, he said, "You can think of them as proper nouns in
