With a bang, the clinic door was slammed open. A figure staggered inside, shouting at the same time.
"Doctor, Doctor, let me hide! Gwen's dad is chasing me! Hurry, find somewhere for me to hide!"
Schiller was coming down from the second floor. He froze for a moment when he saw Peter rush in, but he still pointed toward the kitchen. Peter darted through it and hid behind the island counter. Schiller went to the door and looked outside, only to see Sheriff George leading a squad of police officers past the entrance.
Only after George disappeared down the street did Peter crawl out from behind the counter. He let out a long breath and dropped onto the sofa.
Schiller walked over, poured him a glass of water, set it in front of him, and asked, "What happened? Why was Sheriff George chasing you?"
