In Nick's office, they were still discussing Schiller's disappearance. Stark sighed and said, "He deliberately vanished because he wants us to worry, so we'll be led into looking for him. And if we do as he wishes, there must be another huge pile of messy plans waiting for us."
"I don't agree that everyone should go looking for Schiller either." Nick sighed. "I also think there must be a reason behind his disappearance. If we rush to find him and disrupt his plans, that would be bad. But we can't do nothing either, or we'll be completely unprepared when his 'big surprise' arrives."
"How about this? You all go back to doing what you need to do. I'll arrange for agents to search Earth, then contact Loki and have him see if there are any traces of Schiller in the universe. We'll keep a close eye on his movements."
The others looked at one another and decided that this was the best solution. Everyone was busy now; no one could abandon everything and run around the world looking for someone just because there might be some enormous plan whose full scope they could not even glimpse.

Steve shrugged. "Every big surprise Schiller prepares advances Earth's civilization by a huge step. If he didn't reveal them in such terrifying ways, we wouldn't be this worried."
