On the night Gwen left New York for Hollywood, Betty saw her off at the airport. After watching Gwen depart, she turned and walked out of the terminal, where her boyfriend Bruce Banner was waiting for her in a car by the roadside.
Betty got into the car and let out a soft sigh. Seeing her troubled expression, Banner asked with concern, "What's wrong, Betty? Are you okay?"
Betty shook her head and said, "I'm just happy for Gwen. When we worked together in the lab, she hadn't even graduated yet. She was such a carefree little girl, and in the blink of an eye, she and Peter are about to get married."
Banner swallowed softly and lowered his head a little. "I'm really sorry, Betty. I just..."
Betty was silent for a long time. When Banner turned to look at her again, he saw tears glimmering in her eyes. Panicking a little, he hit the brakes and reached out to clasp her hand tightly.
