"Bruce Wayne!"
The students at the long dining tables called his name one after another, like sparrows landing on a windowsill in early winter. In the morning, that sort of noise would have been especially irritating, but this man seemed used to being the center of attention and was not affected in the slightest by everyone watching him.
"Did I bump into you? Sorry." Bruce gave Little Bruce a slight nod, then almost instantly looked away and turned toward Constantine, who was striding over.
"You're finally back, Bruce. The teachers covering for you have already gone through a whole rotation. If you hadn't come back soon, I might've had to take that terrible math class."
"Don't listen to his nonsense. He'd never go even if it killed him." Zatanna came up from behind Constantine, rolled back the sleeves of her robe, and gave Bruce a hug.
"How have the students been lately? I suppose you'll have to remind them that the math class they hate most is coming back."
"God, I've got a worse headache than they do." Zatanna rolled her eyes. "Math and physics are the pain of my life, and you just happen to be exceptionally good at both. That's even more memorable than our past together... Anyway, forget that. Have you eaten breakfast?"
"Not yet, but I don't have time right now. I came to see Professor Strange. Is he here?"
"He's over by Strange Academy, right there." Constantine pointed behind him toward the group of students in golden robes at the far end of the long table, where Strange's figure flickered in and out of view.
"Thank you. I'll go over first." Bruce started to head that way quickly, but Zatanna glanced at Little Bruce, hurried after him, and said, "Wait, he..."
