"Batman! Batman! Let me out! Damn it, everyone's outside, and I'm the only one locked in here!!!"
In the pitch-black Secret Chamber, Damian gloomily banged on the bars. Suddenly, Batman's face appeared on the room's screen. Damian bared his teeth as if he wanted to bite Batman's head off through the display.
"Darkseid is after me. Stay put and don't make any noise."
With a swish, the call disconnected again. Damian froze for three seconds, then shot up like a rocket in fury. He began pounding the bars wildly, but it was useless.
On the other side, Batman turned back to continue working after ending the call. Superman, standing behind him, looked at his back and said, "That's how you comfort people? He's your son, not your enemy. Diana and I wasted our breath."
Batman sat silently before the console. As he operated the equipment, he said, "That isn't a prison. It's a secured room with adequate sanitary facilities. I believe that, compared to seeing me right now, he should be watching cartoons on TV."
Superman let out a long sigh. He was probably the only person present who could hear the reassuring intent in those few sentences, whose boundary between threats and intimidation was rather unclear.
Batman was actually warning his son that this supervillain was coming for him. He had no human moral code and would stop at nothing to achieve his goals, so he would certainly turn his attention to Batman's loved ones. There was a very high chance that Darkseid had his eye on Damian, and Batman was doing this to protect him.
Of course, Damian was no longer Batman's only blood relative. But Batman believed that, given the current state of his biological father and mother, even if Darkseid's troops came, they would get slapped
