"John, you'd better come take a look at this."

At the entrance of the Oblivion Bookstore branch on the corner of Gotham City's central shopping district, Zatanna pushed open the glass door with some effort.

Constantine was standing before the newly delivered bookshelves, unpacking bundle after bundle of new books and placing them on the shelves. Since every ailment of body and mind had been driven out of him, he had become more than ten years younger.

He wore a white casual shirt and cropped dress pants, an unlit cigarette between his lips. His once-messy platinum hair had grown longer, falling in strands along both sides of his cheeks, giving him something of a refined yet roguish British look.

Seeing Zatanna enter, Constantine strode over and gallantly held the door open for her. "What is it? Why are you reading the newspaper?"

Zatanna had tied her long hair into a high ponytail behind her back. She wore a dark purple camisole with boning, satin wide-legged pants, and flip-flops. Her figure possessed a rare youthful softness, and the casual outfit made her seem especially lively.

Zatanna leaned slightly toward Constantine and pointed at the newspaper's front-page headline. "Look at this. Someone is accusing Bruce Wayne of psychologically manipulating women, using his money and status to mentally abuse his partners, even drugging and knocking them out during dates. My God!"

Constantine's eyes widened slightly. He raised a hand and swept the long hair obscuring half his face behind his head, studying the words on the newspaper intently.

But Zatanna looked up at him. Constantine still had one hand on the glass door, while Zatanna stood before his chest. Their difference in height meant that when she tilted her head up, she could see the sharp line of Constantine's jaw.
