Eddie drew in a breath so deeply it seemed he wanted to suck all the air out of the room. He did not even have time to scream before overwhelming terror and his survival instincts drove him to run in the opposite direction.
The hospital room had two doors. The Great Spider had burst out through the front one, so Eddie could still flee through the back door. He rushed out into the corridor, only to find two zombies at the corner near the stairs at the end of the hall.
Knowing the stairs were no longer an option, Eddie charged straight into the room opposite, shut the door, locked it, and turned to spot a large cabinet against the wall.
Eddie used all his strength to drag the cabinet over and brace it against the door. The spider monster indeed refused to let up, hammering at the door with its two clearly mutated front legs.

What worried Eddie most was that the pounding would draw over the zombies at the end of the corridor, perhaps even every zombie on the entire floor.
This hospital was located in the suburbs of New York. Eddie had never been here before, but the basic facilities alone showed that it was quite old. The Inpatient Department was not large, and if that thing kept pounding, the zombies would definitely break in.
Eddie stood in the room and scanned his surroundings. This seemed to be the duty doctor's office, only about a third the size of a hospital room. A large cabinet and
