Zombie Spider-Man huddled in a corner of the Avengers base, utterly bewildered.
He did not understand how things had turned out like this.
During the previous resets, Zombie Spider-Man had already discovered traces of the outsiders. He had left enough clues to warn them and had even written out his entire plan, guiding them toward it.
Zombie Spider-Man had thought that, since they had been following the universe through its cycles, they would surely cooperate with his plan if only to escape this place themselves. But things had clearly slipped beyond his control.
About half an hour earlier, Zombie Captain America had rushed into the Avengers base in a panic. He had obviously looked like someone was hunting him down.
At the time, the zombie Avengers had been holding a meeting to discuss how to infect the entire world and share their experiences after becoming zombies. Seeing Captain America so flustered, everyone assumed survivors outside had chased him here and intended to wipe them out.
But when Zombie Ant-Man and Zombie Iron Man went outside to look, there was nothing behind Captain America. Everyone condemned Captain America for making such a terrible joke at such a crucial time, though they were also somewhat puzzled.
It would not have been strange if Mister Fantastic or Iron Man had done something like this, but Captain America had always been steady and reliable. During meetings, he was the one who upheld order and discipline. He would not make such a joke at a time like this.
Ant-Man thought Captain America might have been traumatized and suffered some kind of mental breakdown, so he planned to ignore him and continue the meeting. But Iron Man was curious about what had sent Captain America fleeing in such terror.
