This was the battlefield where Ultron's robotic army clashed with the resistance forces of the Three Great Empires. In the past, Stark and Thor would not have spared a thought for aliens and would have unleashed their full firepower.
But after the interstellar situation had stabilized, as Earth's representative scientist and Asgard's emperor, they had dealt with some alien heroes before. They were at least acquaintances, so in order to avoid harming innocents, neither of them used their most destructive forms. Instead, they fought Ultron in humanoid form.
By now, the Earth and Asgard of this universe had been destroyed. Only the elite forces of the Three Great Empires were still resisting desperately. With no more teammates to call upon, the Avengers could only attack Ultron and the Darkhold in squad formations.
Inside the Galactus Engine, Venom braced one hand against the table and covered his eyes with the other, as though the group's intelligence was giving him a headache.
"I'm still pretty curious about who you used to parasitize." Nick folded his arms and looked at Venom sidelong with an inquisitive gaze. "You don't seem like a mere scientist—at least not a scientist as easy to fool as Tony."
"Have you heard of Batman?" Schiller turned to look at him. "He was once Venom's host too."
"I've heard Tony mention him a few times." Nick shrugged. "Mostly about how the other guy's research skills were excellent, second only to his own and all that. I never heard that Batman was also a great detective."
"If Batman was the best detective, then Venom, who once possessed him, was the second best." Schiller sighed softly. "I knew I couldn't hide it from him."
