By bending down slightly, they could clearly observe the camp through the gaps at their bases. Since the sun was currently in the east, anyone facing this direction would be dazzled and unlikely to spot them.
After leaving, Bale-Batman surveyed the surrounding area. Three hundred meters north of the camp was a stream, and obvious traces of human activity could be found if he followed it upstream.
