"Aaaaaaaaaah!!!"

The screams from downstairs made Batman and Natasha both tense.

A few minutes earlier, Batman had used his own blood to lure away Gluttony. Natasha had gone to the emergency blood bank, found the blood bags, and splashed all of them across the stairwell entrance on this floor.

Gluttony had indeed been drawn away, giving them a chance to catch their breath. After a brief discussion, they decided to keep heading upward.

Batman explained it this way: "The upper floors may be more dangerous, but hesitating or repeatedly going up and down the stairs is clearly even more dangerous, because it could repeatedly draw Schiller's attention."

"And from what I know of Schiller, if this game isn't completely chaotic and there are rules to follow, then its difficulty must be unimaginably high. If we stay in one place for too long, something bad is very likely to happen."

Natasha agreed with his assessment and added, "We can't entirely trust what that Schiller who came earlier said either. No one ever guaranteed that any rule was reliable. He may look like an ally, but what if he's a liar?"

"So it's best to figure out the rules ourselves rather than blindly trust anything any Schiller says, even our teammate Schiller."

Batman nodded, then sighed. "The other Batman is with Schiller right now. I suspect he's already fallen for it."

Natasha took bandaging supplies from the Medical Kit she was carrying and began dressing Batman's wound. "How do you think Schiller will deceive him?"

"Mislead him." Batman gave the answer almost without thinking. "Schiller won't tell a hundred percent lies, nor a hundred percent truths. He'll tell part of the truth while concealing the most important The Truth. That's enough to make the other Batman pay in blood."
