"Was Schiller really a surgeon once?"

Overlord Superman looked at Bruce and asked. After a pause, Bruce slowly shook his head. "All I can say is that he knows how to perform surgery. No one knows whether he was actually a surgeon."

"Wouldn't a surgeon normally choose to become a psychiatrist?" Spider-Man objected. "Those seem like two completely different fields."

"The question now isn't whether Schiller can perform surgery, but whether his surgical skills can save this child." Constantine sighed. "In my opinion, this child's chances of survival are slim. He should have died long ago."

Spider-Man turned and looked at Constantine with some displeasure. Constantine pursed his lips. "I'm not cursing him."

Then he shook his head, as though he knew some hidden truth but was unwilling to reveal it.

At that moment, Owen finally spoke again. "Come on, friends, second round of betting! This one's simpler. Bet on whether Schiller's surgery will succeed. Minimum wager is one point, no upper limit, triple payout. Place your bets."

"Wait, give us some time." Overlord Superman interrupted him, then turned back to Bruce. "Have you seen your professor operate?"

"He stitched me up before," Bruce said carefully. "But that doesn't tell us much about his surgical ability. Even an ordinary person can suture with a little training."

"I think you should consider the hallucination you saw earlier with that Batman. Do you know how difficult it is to skin someone completely intact?"

"He preserved the subcutaneous nerves almost perfectly." Arthur chuckled. "Only if the nerves were intact enough could his fish feel enough pain to jump higher."

"That's what I mean. He does have exceptional surgical skill, but he rarely uses it for medical treatment." Bruce nodded.
