Schiller glanced at the portal beside him, tilted his head slightly upward, and said, "If this production factory had been operating normally before, then where have all the Hui People gone? Don't tell me you haven't noticed that there isn't a single living person left on this entire planet."
Overlord Batman had actually been considering that question for quite some time. Resting a finger against his chin, he said, "The alien civilization used the Hui People to synthesize the materials they wanted only because intelligent life can reproduce and die on its own, saving them the trouble of harvesting. But if they wiped out all the raw materials every time they harvested, there would have been no need to create a planetary factory like this."
"In other words, the Hui People weren't wiped out by the Advanced Alien Civilization. Then who did it?"
Schiller looked down at his feet and said, "The answer is right beneath us."
"Wait, what's going on now?" Eddie stopped them and said, "Didn't you already win? Shouldn't we be heading back to camp through the portal?"
"Clearly, things aren't that simple." Loki, passing by him, patted him on the shoulder. Stark also turned back and said, "Even if the game is over, we still need the truth."
Everyone followed Schiller to the enormous Crystal. Schiller pressed a button on the panel, and the Crystal descended, revealing an elevator enclosed by a transparent shield.
They took the elevator down. It descended slowly for roughly a dozen floors before stopping. When the doors opened, an exceptionally spacious Research Center appeared before them.
It was completely different from the temple-like style above, looking entirely like the product of modern science. As soon as everyone stepped out, the elevator returned to its original position, leaving no trace behind.
