Hollywood Park was actually fairly small, with nowhere near as many attractions as Magic Kingdom. So as soon as they left the central plaza, the group headed straight for the Star Wars area, where Schiller saw so many Americans gathered in one place for the first time.

The United States truly was vast and sparsely populated, and it was a nation of immigrants. You could generally guess which country someone's family came from by how they dressed on the street. But Schiller was certain that the huge crowd gathered at the queue ahead of them consisted of dyed-in-the-wool Stars and Stripes Americans.

The sight of the line ahead reminded Schiller of a train station during the Spring Festival travel rush. It was no exaggeration—every person in front of them was packed tightly against everyone else, shoulder to shoulder, like dominoes.

And before they could even celebrate having priority access, they discovered that the Lightning Lane was just as crowded, jammed solid with people.

"Well, since we came for this, there's no reason not to wait." Steve sighed, tossed his head, and said, "Come on. Let's get in line."

They ended up waiting for a full three hours.

They queued from morning until noon. At first, they had indeed been waiting in the Lightning Lane, where the wait was only about half an hour. But just as they were about to reach the front, Captain America spotted a little boy with crutches in the regular line, drenched in sweat from the heat amid the packed crowd. His injured foot also looked too unsteady to support him.

After speaking with his parents, they learned that he had been born with a disability in one leg and could only go out using crutches. With everyone else's agreement, Steve gave the boy his Lightning
