Bruce chose to pay his phone bill.

With phone service, he could access the Web. That way, whenever he encountered something he did not understand, he could look it up online immediately.

Then he understood that he was now in the future. Technology was far more advanced than in his era, and computers were no longer exceptionally expensive items. Even more portable devices had made their way into countless homes.

He did not have a computer right now, but there was no need to buy one. He could simply find a place that rented out computers—a so-called internet café—and do his work there.

He also learned something else: Aisha had not merely inherited the appearance of other Batmen. She was a miniature Batman, every bit as much of a genius as Batman himself.

But communication efficiency was a problem. Bruce keenly sensed that Aisha might have a communication disorder.

Her intellectual and physical development were not delayed, which meant the communication disorder might have been caused by her personality or some other pathological factor.

But if that was the case, why had Aisha's biological father not treated her? Since the Batmen from other universes were all so capable, there was no reason he would not treat his own daughter.

As Bruce pondered this question, he searched the map on his phone for the nearest internet café. Although he did not have the money to buy a hard drive for the time being, he could at least go take a look.

What he had actually planned to do was search online for information about water pipe renovation projects. But after entering the internet café and turning on a computer, the search engine homepage recommended a news article to him.
