"What's going on?!"
Bruce stared in disbelief as that whole string of Demons and monsters flew farther and farther away. Instinctively, he charged after them and shouted, "Hey! Wait!!"
Bruce ran two steps, then suddenly remembered he had web-shooters now. He reached toward them, and a strand of webbing actually stuck to Deadpool's leg.
Bruce was hauled into the air. Deadpool looked down, saw Bruce's face, and reacted as if he'd seen a ghost.
"Batman?!! This isn't another one of Batman's plans, is it?!!"
Deadpool let out a shriek and began climbing upward with all his might. First, he swung his arms around Captain America's shield-bearing arm, then pressed down on Captain America's shoulder, stepped on the shield's edge, and hooked an arm around Natasha's knee.
"Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing?!" Captain America instinctively tried to push Deadpool down, while Deadpool screamed the entire time.
"Look who's down there! Let go of me and let me climb up!!"
Captain America looked down and saw a handsome face. In the Main Universe timeline, Captain America had not yet met Bruce, so he had no idea who this handsome young man was, much less why Deadpool was screaming so miserably.
"Taking a picture is one thing, getting involved in his plans is another! This guy is DC's Source of Darkness! If he catches me, I'm dead for sure. Even getting his attention would be a catastrophe. I don't want to be bound to anyone—I'm an independent hero..."
Deadpool babbled this sort of crazed nonsense as he continued scrambling upward desperately.
Focused on escaping, Deadpool stepped on Captain America's shoulder, then grabbed Natasha's arm, yanked the red sash around her waist, and used her back as a foothold to climb up.
He made it up, but Bruce's web was still attached
