"That's right. I can't describe it in great detail, but that's roughly it... All right, thank you. Thank you very much, Doctor."
Peter hung up, pushed open the door, and walked into the room. He told Bruce, "A very skilled surgeon will be here soon. He'll give you a thorough examination to make sure your wound hasn't affected any important functions, then clean and dress it."
Leaning against the headboard, Bruce said, "I understand the skilled surgeon part, but how is he supposed to examine me here? There isn't any equipment."
"He also happens to be a mage, and the Sorcerer Supreme." Peter spread his hands. "If it isn't too serious, he might even be able to heal you directly. But it's hard to say. If even Spider-Man's Self-Healing can't do much about a wound like this, then there may be something wrong with Ms. Natasha's weapon."
Bruce pressed his lips together. He suspected that the wicked female agent had done this to him just to watch him walk like a crab. He would not fall for it. He absolutely would not get out of bed until the wound had healed.
Soon, Bruce saw a flash of light outside, followed by an unfamiliar voice from beyond the door.
"Sorry, Peter. I've been a little busy. You rarely run into anything you can't handle, so I hurried over."
"I'm really sorry to interrupt your work, Doctor. Has another emergency happened in New York? Uh, I didn't show up because..."
"No need to explain, Peter. Nick already told me. Nothing urgent is happening in New York, apart from the Brooklyn Bridge collapsing again, some guy wearing his underwear outside his clothes suddenly planting a building on the coastline, and the people in another unfamiliar building fighting the armored suits inside this one.
