The first course served up by the gang enforcer was this: while being pursued by a strangely dressed freak of unknown origin, he completely abandoned his home-field advantage of knowing the terrain. He stepped onto a Shop awning, sprang onto the roof, and through a series of maneuvers, exposed himself at the perfect range and angle for a pistol shot.
And Batman was not to be outdone—he did not have a pistol.
Then it was Batman's turn to make a move. He also sprinted and made a great leap onto the Shop awning, but he was much stronger and heavier than someone who had spent his life at Gotham's bottom rung. The awning collapsed beneath him, leaving him unable to make the second jump onto the Shop roof.
The gang enforcer was not about to fall behind either. He stood on the roof and poked his head out.
Batman threw a punch, grabbed his collar, and yanked him down. The two brawled in midair, and after they both hit the ground, the gang enforcer on top got up first.
Then he started climbing upward again.
