The atmosphere in the Batcave was somewhat grim.
All the Robins stood in a row while Batman paced before them. Everyone's eyes followed his steps, and a few of them exchanged glances, making faces as they bet on when Batman would stop.
Batman's sword-sharp gaze settled on Red Hood's face. Red Hood straightened slightly, though he still looked as unruly as ever.
Then Batman's gaze swept over Nightwing and Red Robin on the right, as well as the smaller Robin standing beside them.
"I want to know what happened."
Photos of the war-torn new city appeared on the huge screen behind Batman. There was even footage of Red Hood flying a Batplane across the sky.
"You didn't lock the Batplane!" Red Hood immediately seized the chance to raise his voice, only to shut up again beneath Batman's murderous glare.
"It's a little complicated..." Nightwing said.
"...Very complicated," Dick said.
"But it's not that serious!" Red Hood said.
"...Not serious," Jason added.
"It's actually easy to explain," Red Robin said.
"Easy...?" Tim looked at Red Robin.
Batman's stern gaze landed on him as well, conveying a clear message: Try spouting nonsense.
"Cough, cough..." Red Robin cleared his throat, looked away, and rolled his eyes.
"It was Arkham's lunatics!"
Loud applause erupted in the Batcave. Red Hood and Jason high-fived, Nightwing and Dick shook hands, and Red Robin and Tim nodded to each other.
Batman narrowed his eyes.
"That's exactly it." Red Robin spread his hands and shrugged. "If you don't believe me, go check Arkham Asylum. Everyone in there escaped."
"You didn't lock Arkham Asylum either!" Red Hood raised his voice again, then fell silent beneath Batman's stare.
