As a kind-hearted superhero, Batman naturally could not monitor supervillains with methods as disregardful of law and human rights as Amanda's.

But keeping an eye on Joker was necessary, especially when he was staying with a Batman who was far too trendy.

Batman went to find Superman.

The local Superman, of course. When Bruce went looking for Superman, Batman had already recorded the places where he appeared through surveillance cameras and brought Superman out through the shield's entrance.

There was absolutely no selfish motive behind this. It was purely for the pursuit of The Truth and targeted no one.

But Superman was, after all, an alien. Such overwhelming power needed limits and supervision, so Batman went and got Peter too.

This was absolutely scientific, or at least full of exploratory spirit. Once again, it targeted no one.

Joker held the exact opposite opinion. He strongly demanded that Batman put a bomb in his heart rather than take him down there with those three unlucky bastards.

Joker's protest was ineffective. Batman tossed all four of them out of a fighter jet at the shield's entrance.

To avoid confusion, the four members of this expedition had to be introduced.

Peter was Amazing Spider-Man from Marvel's Main Universe, 616 Old Earth, though he no longer had Spider-Man's abilities at this point.

Bruce came from Schiller's universe.

Joker came from the Main Universe. He was now the Joker of Gotham on the Sky Island, the New 52 Joker.

Superman came from Earth-1. Clark Kent deserved special introduction here, because the Earth-1 series had a solo title for him.

Some believed that since Earth-1's Batman was so weak, Superman had to be weak too. But Batman's weakness only affected people within Gotham; Superman and Green Lantern, who also had their own titles, were barely affected
