Bruce woke from the bed, still bleary-eyed, and was rather surprised to find that Selene, who had been sleeping beside him, had vanished. Then a foot suddenly kicked out from beneath the covers.

Bruce truly had no idea how someone could sleep with another person already in the bed and somehow turn themselves completely around. It practically qualified as an acrobatic feat.

Selene could indeed perform acrobatics, but that did not mean she had to apply her talents here. Although she had always been a restless sleeper and often complained that Bruce crushed her hair, they could occasionally still enjoy those sweet, intimate mornings.

Lately, never mind a sweet morning atmosphere—every morning, Bruce had to guess which way Selene's head was pointing. But one thing was certain: it was never pointing toward him.
