Bruce looked around and realized he was not the only one listening. This was a public space, after all, and because it had been built inside a cave, it had natural acoustics. Sound could carry a long way.

Those who had heard Schiller's treatment process split into two camps. One, like Arthur and Bruce, was surprised, even shocked. The other showed little reaction, as though it had gone in one ear and out the other. They listened casually, then went back to what they had been doing.

Obviously, everyone in the shocked camp was from Gotham, and they were Gothamites who dealt with Schiller regularly. The more familiar they were with him, the more shocked they were.
