Before the Great West Continent cruise ship restarted, several figures jumped aboard. Constantine, leading the group, shook the water from his hair. Beside him, Bobo the Gorilla Detective leaped onto Night Master's shoulder. Zatanna checked the tools in her pockets with Black Orchid, making sure they had not forgotten anything.
Oliver was quite surprised by their arrival. Though he had not dealt much with the magic world, he had heard about the major vampire invasion of London. He had also consulted Night Master while dealing with local indigenous witches in Mexico.
"Jim, what are you doing here?" Oliver walked over and shook Jim's hand. Jim smiled, patted his arm, and said, "So you're already back. I thought I'd have to wait a while. How have things been lately?"
"Not bad. Are you here to help Schiller?" Oliver immediately realized something.
"Of course, but more accurately, he's helping us." A trace of worry appeared between Night Master's brows.
Oliver put an arm around his shoulders and led him toward the crowd gathered on the deck. "I heard things haven't been going well in the magic world. Has it gotten any better lately?"
"It might get better afterward." Night Master shook his head and began explaining the magic world's recent situation.
Earlier, Schiller had arranged a plan to harvest Constantine, the famous black box of the occult world. That had left many mid- and high-ranking demons who had wagered heavily on Constantine so broke they had lost the shirts off their backs.
The effects of the vampire invasion of London still lingered. Mages had died or been injured, and the magic world was desperately short on talent. Gotham Magic Academy had only just been established, and most students had not even studied for two years. They were nowhere near ready to be
