By the time Peter arrived, it was already too late.

He had just crested a hill when he saw a figure floating in midair, broad and powerfully built, with resolute features but eyes full of cruel indifference.

He wore a red shirt beneath golden armor, a gray cape snapping behind him, and a Helmet with enormous silver horns. His eyes were flashing brilliantly.

The other figure had flowing black hair and lips red as fire. The gem on her wrist gave off a blazing glow, while powerful divine energy swirled around her.

The violent divine-energy shockwave from their final clash forced even Spider-Man to briefly vanish into the mist to avoid being blown away.

When the smoke and dust cleared, Spider-Man saw Ares's Helmet lying on the ground, while Wonder Woman lay unconscious nearby.

Spider-Man sucked in a breath. He had been about to rush over to help, but fortunately, having just returned from the mist, he still had spirit-world vision. He noticed that Diana's divine power had weakened but had not begun to disperse. Ares's strike had failed to pierce her defenses; it seemed to have merely knocked her out.

Spider-Man breathed a sigh of relief. He had just learned from that warrior that Batman and Diana in this universe were lovers. If Diana died, Batman would definitely lose his mind, and there was no way he could stop a crazed Batman.

In the blink of an eye, Spider-Man had barely shifted his gaze away from Diana when a point of power-light dazzled him. He narrowed his eyes and looked carefully, only to discover that it was Ares's Helmet.

More precisely, a piece of metal at the very top of the Helmet was emitting a strange glow. It was not particularly bright, but the flow of energy was chaotic
